I have always loved collecting and accumulating books over the years, particularly books that I can find at thrift stores. When I started birding that love of collecting turned into a need to purchase or salvage any birding or ornithology book that I could, again mostly second-hand. Along with my birding experiences and attempts to improve this craft, I wanted to read and review some birding books I have stockpiled over the last few years. These reviews will run the gambit of older guidebooks, coffee table bird books, non-fiction stories, and new releases.
I’ve always had a thing for collecting books, especially the ones you stumble upon in thrift stores. When I got into birding, that love for collecting turned into a bit of an obsession—I couldn’t resist snagging every birding or ornithology book I could get my hands on, mostly second-hand scores. Alongside birding stories and attempts to improve this craft, I’ve decided to dive into the stack of birding books I’ve hoarded over the years. I’ll be giving my take on everything from old-school guidebooks and cool coffee table bird reads to real-life bird stories and the newest releases.
